FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Recently injured?  Here are some common questions you may have about how to obtain care after an accident.

What should I do if I’ve been in an auto accident?

After an auto accident, things easily can and usually do get confusing and chaotic. So it’s best to be prepared ahead of time so that you know what to do in the event of an accident. But at its simplest, what you should do following an automotive accident is call the police, file an accident report and make sure you’re okay. You’ll also want to call your auto insurance carrier, take pictures and sketch out how the accident happened. Limit discussion with others on the scene (except the police), and make sure to get real medical care from providers who know auto accidents.

What do I need to bring for my first visit?

Please bring your driver’s license or other valid form of photo identification.  If you are represented by an attorney, we will also require a Letter of Protection (LOP) from their law firm that covers your care at our clinic.  When you call to book an appointment, we’ll explain what you can expect from your first visit, and we’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have. We look forward to seeing you!

Will my care involve surgery?

We can’t know that without first evaluating you. However, we have a long history of providing comprehensive care hat gets excellent outcomes without referring you to surgery. If surgery is necessary, our doctors and other medical professionals will refer you to the appropriate care.

Will I get treatment on my first visit, or will I need tests?

At Addison Interventional Pain Management, our aim is reach an accurate, complete diagnosis and get you into treatment as quickly as possible. We cannot promise that you’ll have your treatment recommendation during that first visit, as some testing may not yet be complete. But if we do know what’s going on and have treatment options in mind, we’ll let you know as soon as we can. Sometimes, that can be during the initial appointment.

What if I don’t have the money to see a doctor immediately?

As auto-accident specialists, we know how important it is to not delay your evaluation (and treatment) at all. That’s why we don’t make you pay up-front out-of-pocket. Just come in and get the care you need. Delaying your care can lead to worsening of the injury. In fact, many people delay evaluation after an accident because they think — or are entirely convinced — that they aren’t injured. But injuries can hide for weeks, even months. Other people delay so long that they run out the clock on any injury coverage that may once have been available from the at-fault party’s insurance. Don’t wait- call us now to make an appointment.

PATIENT TESTIMONIALS

Ashley J.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Hess and Sylvia Flores-Bugarin. As a team they have exhaustively explored ways to alleviate or reduce my chronic lower back pain. I am so grateful for their compassion and support through this rigorous and often demoralizing process. The entire staff I'd absolutely wonderful and I consider myself very lucky to be under the care of such warm and caring professionals who truly have the best interest of their patients in mind at all times.

Shelby W.

After four years and seven doctors who would simply dismiss me and not believe that I was in pain "because I was too young to be in so much pain" Dr. Sylvia and Dr. Hess were the first doctors to work with me and finally made me feel like I could trust a doctor again. I would - and will- recommend anyone to this place, as everyone there, from the front desk and everyone else, is so nice and accommodating, even with my crazy schedule. They are not there just to make money off you, they truly care, and it shows. They don't have enough stars for this place. 10/10.

Jane H.

Third visit and very impressed by the professionalism and compassion of this group. I’m a nurse and have seen it all. Drs are highly skilled. One is fellow in pain management, other is BC anesthesiologist. Nurses I’ve seen are NP’s and extremely knowledgeable. Had first epidural injection today, performed by anesthelogist. Expertly done, very little discomfort. Quick, easy and was out in 10 minutes. If you are at all apprehensive about spinal injections, don’t be with this group.

Pavel C.

5 stars from the staff at the front desk, to the doctors and nurses. First time in 2 years I have experienced less pain due to someone that wants to correct the problem, not put a bandage over it. Got my MRI done and did not want to have surgery when Im 30. They have a multitude of treatments and methods that help treat the pain and possibly even fix the problem.
